A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the lab of Dr. Jane
Kelly, Department of Chemistry at Portland State University, to develop
antimalarial drugs. The position will involve the ongoing research in a
recent Nature publication, and is currently funded by an NIH Challenge
Grant. The successful candidate will work together with a team of
scientists to design, synthesize, and test acridone derivatives in a
drug discovery program. The candidate will be responsible for analog
scale-up, reaction optimization, purification, and characterization of
organic compounds. We are seeking a highly motivated, creative, and
results-oriented individual with good communication and interpersonal
skills. Qualifications: MS or PhD degree in Chemistry with experience in
chemical synthesis, and preferably with basic understanding of biology.
